Privacy Policy

Last updated 17 September 2026. Applies to the Notetola website, web app and Android app.

The short version

Notetola runs on your device. Your microphone audio, transcripts and notes are created and stored on that device. We do not receive them, we cannot read them, and there is no account to sign up for.

What we collect

Nothing you record. Audio is captured only while you are recording and is turned into text by a speech model that runs inside the app on your own hardware. Audio is kept only if you switch on "Keep the audio with each note", and then only on your device. Notes, scraps and transcripts are stored in your browser's or app's local storage.

No account, no analytics, no advertising identifiers. We do not ask for your name or email to use the app, we do not run third-party analytics in the app, and we do not sell or share personal data.

Network connections the app makes

Website

notetola.com is served by Cloudflare. Cloudflare processes standard request logs, including IP addresses, for security and delivery. We do not place advertising or analytics cookies on the site.

Your choices and your data

Everything is on your device, so you control it. In Settings you can export all of your notes as a file or delete every note. Uninstalling the app or clearing site data removes your notes permanently. Because we never hold a copy, we cannot restore deleted notes, and we cannot respond to a request to access or delete data we do not have.

Children

Notetola is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Recording laws

Recording rules vary by state and country and often require the consent of everyone present. You are responsible for telling people that you are recording and for complying with the law where you are.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date above and, for material changes, note it in the app.
